3 Reasons to Power Up Your Day with a Simple to Make Protein Smoothie

Protein smoothies are the go-to for most bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts, but truth be told – they can power up every person’s day even if you’re only looking for an added energy boost.

Protein smoothies can be an essential part of a healthy diet—regardless of what your workout routine may be.

These smoothies are a great way to start your day with the energy you need to stay alert and focused all day long. There are plenty of benefits to drinking them and worth every second tossing one together!

These are just three of the reasons that you should start your day with a natural protein smoothie:

You will have more energy: We all run into that midday slump right around 3:00. You might be working efficiently, and then you just seem to crash and want to curl up in the corner. Protein smoothies are an excellent solution to this problem because they are known for boosting energy.

You have probably heard people talk about how much energy they have after eating a protein-packed snack. The same is true of protein smoothies. This increase of energy from your protein smoothie is likely because protein prevents a sugar crash.

With a protein smoothie, you have the opportunity to balance out the carbohydrates with protein. This keeps the blood sugar increase to a minimum and can improve your energy for the rest of the day.

Another important reason that protein boosts your energy is that protein helps you sleep better. If you’re eating a diet that is high in protein, you will find yourself with more energy throughout the day which means better performance at work, at home, or at the gym.

You will be getting extra nutrients: Many protein powders are filled with vitamins and minerals. This is a way to easily add in those necessary nutrients. It can be hard to get everything you need from your regular diet alone. A little help from a good protein powder can go a long way. (But, it must be a ‘GOOD’ protein powder and not one that is processed and full of toxic ingredients.)

Another way to add these nutrients to your smoothies is by throwing in all kinds of vegetables. What's excellent about protein powder is that it masks some of the flavors you may not be a fan of. When you make your protein smoothie, you can add spinach, kale, and all kinds of veggies. You will still get the benefits of them without having to taste the flavors you don’t like. It’s all about balance! This may take some experimentation. Nonetheless, you will get to start your day with a good variety of vitamins and minerals!

You will be more alert: Protein gives your brain the amino acids that it needs. When your brain has enough amino acids, it can function at its best. This is because your brain has tyrosine, which impacts the neurotransmitters that keep you focused.

Norepinephrine and dopamine are the two specific neurotransmitters that are helpful for concentration. When you consume protein, the tyrosine increases and the neurotransmitters do too.

Protein can also help you to focus because you will feel full and satisfied. If you are too hungry, you can't concentrate very well and might become off-task. When you start your day with protein, you will be able to work hard and focus all day long.
